Veteran Real Estate Executive Mike James Expands Role as President of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage In the San Francisco Bay Area

San Francisco, March 21, 2014 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Northern California's leading provider of real estate services, announced today that veteran real estate executive Mike James has been named president of the company's San Francisco Bay Area region. James will also continue his current role as president of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, a sister company to the Bay Area operation. Both companies are owned by NRT LLC.

In his expanded role, James will oversee the operations of 46 offices and more than 3,000 affiliated sales associates in the Bay Area, along with five offices and 500 affiliated sales associates in Hawaii. James will be replacing Rick Turley, who is exploring the next phase of his 28-year real estate career with the company and in the immediate timeframe will focus on sales in the dynamic San Francisco market.

Prior to taking on the Hawaii position in 2012, James served as the general sales manager for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Bay Area. Before that, he headed up some of the top-producing offices in the nation. Under his leadership, two Silicon Valley offices in Los Altos and Saratoga ranked among the top 10 in the United States for Coldwell Banker.

"This appointment will strengthen our capability to more fully connect these two important markets, driving business referrals, both buyers and sellers, to our affiliated Coldwell Banker agents in Hawaii," said Greg Macres, executive vice president for the western region of NRT LLC. "We're excited that Mike will be able to return to his roots to oversee the Bay Area operations in addition to leading the talented team at Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties in Hawaii."

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to help lead a region where I spent so many years working, and to find ways to leverage the resources, talent and referral opportunities between the Bay Area and Hawaii," James said. "This will be an important objective in my new expanded role." Macres added, "Throughout Mike's career as an agent, a manager and an executive, he's had tremendous success everywhere he has been. I am confident he is going to do an outstanding job as president in the Bay Area and in Hawaii."

Prior to entering the real estate industry, James served in the Air Force and operated several small businesses in Southern California and Lake Tahoe. That experience helped him develop strong leadership and financial skills, which serve him well as an agent, manager and executive.
